A 2-day-event to improve the healthcare journey of patients and their caregivers

The Patient Hackathon is a two-day event where up to 120 participants will create new solutions for improving the healthcare journey of patients and their caregivers. The hackathon puts patients in the driving seat: the challenges are being defined with patients and many of the participants will be patients and caregivers themselves.

The 5 Challenges

  • Screening & Diagnosis

How might we ease distress, empower patients and improve diagnostic accuracy and speed?

  • Self-Management of Disease

How might we help patients manage their disease better, with fewer burdens and more support?

  • Follow Up and Monitoring

How might we improve the interdisciplinary care and follow-up of patients with chronic illness?

  • Patients at Work

How might we improve the patient experience in the work context?

  • Communication

How might we improve communication between patients and healthcare professionals?

For whom

We welcome applications from developers, designers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and other talented people, but most importantly you should be passionate about improving the healthcare journey of patients and their caregivers! So if you have or have had an ongoing illness yourself or take care of someone with an illness, then you should definitely consider taking part.

Why take part

You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve in just two days of intense, inventive work with other talented people – but most importantly, with the help of our panel of experts and jurors you’ll have an opportunity to launch a new innovation project or startup that could make a real difference to the lives of patients and their caregivers. If you want to make a real impact, then the Patient Hackathon is for you!
